Have you ever bought something that you do not need before? I did and I believe you were in the same state as me. Have you ever wonder why we buy things we do not need in the first place? For example buying of a BMW 5 series car instead of a Honda car, travel to another country in the first class or business class instead rather then economy class? Do you really need them? No, you don’t! You are buying the experience, you WANT to have that experience. An experience that is above the norm.

It is because we as human beings know that by buying somethings we will have this result just like buying a lottery ticket, in hope to get rich in an instant. “People buy wants not needs” is our topic today.

By taking advantage of this ‘human want’, we can use words that will trigger our human emotions to buy, bringing them the future they desire or experience they want to have.

That is why in every sales copy, there is a consequences of buying and not buying the product or service. For example for BMW car, if you do not own the BMW 5 series, your status is not known to your peers (especially to your rich peers). Selling the consequence process is so important that you can focus less in other sales copy, but forgetting to sell the consequences will actually turn your readers off. There are two types of consequences:

Positive: Having this product or service will give/experience to the owner. A vision of hope for the readers.

Negative: Not having this product or service. The things the readers will miss out if they do not own it now.

The two consequences are very important in a sales copy, but the negative consequences will drive the readers to buy it, so your negative consequences will drive the readers to buy it, so your negative consequences must be stronger and more drill in. Why do I say that? It is because most of the people in the world are driven by negative emotion more than positive emotion. For example will you be motivated to save $1,000, or are you motivated to keep that $1,000 from stealing? About 80% of the people will choose the later.

Remember to sell more on the wants rather than the needs, with consequences of buying and not buying. That is all for today’s internet marketing strategy, do comment below if you have something to share. To your success. Cheers!

“Words can motivate or hurt you“, have you heard of that before? I did, and words also will draw traffic back to your blog as well. Of course you do not use hurting words, like hate you or disgust me, one thing is that most properly you have not seem them before, so do not make any judgment on your readers. I will usually give encouragement to my readers, give them facts and truth about the article.

Treating your readers like a friend, will most likely be able to draw them back to you as loyal readers….

So what are the things to take note of when writing? Below are some of my thoughts:

1) Headline – Have you ever read newspaper, then some headline draws your attention to the article? I did. Headline has to be catchy and yet at the same time keyword researched. A good example is “Learn About My 10 Blogging Mistakes!”, or “My Head Just Made It To The Chopping Board”, a title that draws the readers attention with make them read more and stay longer. For the above case, keyword is not really researched. For keyword research type it should look like this “Keyword Research: How To Make Money From It?”, as you can see that the primary keyword for the headline is keyword research. Why it is better to place the keyword in front? Google’s rule of searching, is to use first 5 words that the searchers type and present them as relevant as possible.

2) Content – Here you will have to twist the content of the post. Of course there is a standard format of writing, here is how I will write:

Introduction

Build Up Content

Expand Content

Summary/ Call To Action

Ok, its like writing a composition back in school, but that is the best format. So just use it and it will guide you. You will have to write a sentence or two to describe what is the paragraph is about.

3) Sub-Headline: There is a saying that headlines are to make the readers read the second line, so the sub-headline does the same as well. It has to be catchy as well, and it must be relevant to the 1st headline, to the 1st sub-headline, then to the 2nd sub-headline, etc…

4) Ask Questions: This will actually make them think and the readers will think that you care for them. Of course you do care, if not me or you will not even write the article. In the content, always ask a few questions as blog is a web 2.0 that is very interactive, so use questions asking.

So start on writing that unique article to make the readers stick to your blog. That will be all for today’s internet marketing strategy, do comment below and share with your friends. Cheers!

Do you have problems finding words that sell for your PPC ad or your product sales copy? I did and boy it was hard at first when I first started out as a internet marketer. I do not have any idea what to write, so I have to refer to some other PPC ads, especially the ones that are selling the same thing as me.

What I will do is to key in a search term related to my affiliate product, and look at the PPC ads. Here I will pick those that will compel me to want to know more or want to buy, then I will copy PPC ad word for word into the Microsoft Word and save it.Then use another search term of the same affiliate product, and repely the process again. Do this for at least 10 competitor’s PPC ads.The reason I do this, is that I can refer them in the future. Same goes for sales copy, do the same thing like wise.

After you have consolidate the ads, save them into a folder that is under your product’s name, so you can easily find them. Now there is also another way, to improve your sales copy skill, is to write your own style of sales copy. Let’s start with the Google PPC first as it is the shortest, remember that you can have 25 wordings and spaces in the headline of the Google ad, and description line 1 and 2, both have 35 wordings and spaces only. Write them down on a piece of paper, for 5 different ads.

Now you are to use the five different ad copy and show it to your friends, preferable 10 friends. Ask them which of the 5 ads will compel them to buy. Then Ask them why do they choose this ad, and record what they feedback. Lastly show them the 10 different ads which you consolidated from the research with the ad you written, and ask your friends again, which of the eleven ads will compel them to buy, and record their feedback.

Now that you have the result from your friend, test it on actual PPC campaign and record the result. Here you will realised that sometimes the result is not what your friend tells you, and sometimes its true. Why? It is because the actual searchers finding the products may not be used to the type of ad copy you use. So this will tell you one thing about ad copy, always change if you does not get any results from that ad, and always record the results, like date, how many impressions, how many clicks, and how many sales. Then you will find out what is the best ad or words that sell.

There is another resource, that can help you finding words that sell. It is a book with the same title “Words That Sell” by Bayan. I have used this when I first started as a internet marketer, and find it very useful when I do not know what compelling words to add in.

That will be all for internet marketing strategy, if you like this post, please bookmark or share with someone, or you can comment below on what to add in for ad copy skills. Your input will be much appreacited. Cheers!
