For the first twenty years of your life, most properly you were staying with your parents or family members. Did anyone comment that you and your parents or family members behave, think, does or even have the same hobby? It is because you have stay with them for so long that you learn about their habits, values, character and life style, and it’s no wonder that you and your parents look or feel the same. Genes here do play a small part, but it’s the daily learning from each other that plays the major role.

Another area that will determine your future are the books you read, to be more specifically it’s the books you read for the past three years. You see that three years ago, you decided what kind of books you want to read, because you want to be good in that area. If you want to be good in internet marketing, then you should start reading books on internet marketing.

Now you know that you can design your future, and the type of man or woman you want to become, how do you plan and follow through to become that man or woman? Here are some of the things that will help you follow through.

First decide what type of person you want to become. If you want to be a millionaire, find people who are millionaires, if you want to be a successful CEO, hang out with great CEOs of some company, if you want to become a great boxer, then you need to know the great boxers of today or get great boxer coach to train you.

Second is to decide the 5 person that impact your life. These 5 persons need not know each other, but they must have something that you deem successful which you want to learn from them. They can be of different specialties, as long as they are successful in that area. You must invest time with these five persons, getting to know their successful area. You must set aside every once a week to meet them or contact them in any form, getting their knowledge and experience.

Third is to read on books that will help you become who you want to be. For me I want to be a very successful internet marketer and a great lover, I will choose these types of books.

Forth is to record your progress. It is best to keep a journal and write down what you have learned and experience. It is best to write down every time you learn something or any of the five persons sharing their knowledge or experience with you.

Lastly is to execute what you have learned. If you learn but did not put them into action, it is like not learning it at all. So put into action on whatever occasion you can find. If you require more practice more some area, invest time and find opportunity to put your knowledge into action.

It’s Valentine again! Have you gone out to meet that special someone? Or maybe he/she might confess their love for you today. Today I am going to do something special. I will share some tips in how to have a better relationship, and how the principle can also be apply in your internet marketing journey. The Italics will be about Internet Marketing.

Likes/Dislikes/Interest

This is where you will have to go out together and learn their likes and dislikes together. You will score points if you are able to know and present them their liking or interest.

Here you will have to know what strategy you are using, for example email marketing, you will need to know that the subject (Headline) that will make your leads want to read. So you must also like Headline marketing, for email marketing to have the maximum results.

Understanding

Here you will need time to develop that understanding, like going out and sharing your deepest desires, thoughts and goals in life. Listen is the key here to understanding. A lot of people have bad relationship are that they did not listen to the other party, and still insist that hear what they said. Learning more about Internet Marketing can come from reading, attending seminar or coached by some Internet Marketing expert, helps the most in understanding.

Time is also an essence, but this can be quicken but having a mentor who has been there done it. Internet Marketing is not just a single strategy, but a lot of different type of strategies that can be combined together. Like Lead Capture Marketing is closely associated to eMail Marketing. My suggestion is that understand one strategy first in depth first, then find out which are the other strategies that can strengthen overall for Internet Marketing.

Invest Time

A relationship will not be a relationship if the two does not invest time together. Note that I used ‘Invest’, instead of spend. It’s because you want to spend the rest of your live together when you know they are the one. Without time together, the above few tips will not be able to come to pass. A lot of people will say that they do not have the time so they will meet once a week or even once every two weeks, well if you continue to meet once a week, then you will realized that you need longer time (more years) to know/understand each other.

Invest Time In Internet Marketing: This is especially true in Internet Marketing, you are doing this it’s because you want to generate cash for result. Internet Marketing is a business. If you do not invest time in Internet Marketing, you can forget about generating cash into the business. The question is “How much time do you invest in Internet Marketing?” For me, I invest about 6 hours average daily in Internet Marketing.

Communicate

In relationship, it is very important to communicate with each other. That is why God gave us two ears and one mouth, so we have to listen more than talk. Of course, this is not the case for females, as they usually talk twice more than males. So males will have to listen even more as females have more to talk about.

In Internet Marketing, this is analysis and record every thing you do. This is where a lot of internet marketers does not do and have cause them to fail or not understand why they have this results. The numbers will not lie, so the numbers will be your communication that the Internet Marketing is telling you.

Invest Money

In relationship, you will need to invest money to eat, watch movie, travel, etc… You will need to put aside some money for dating, whatever your income is, put aside around 10% for dating, of course be prepare to invest even more. (Note: if you have invest too much and do not have a return, that means that the other party is not investing as well, you might want to drop this one and look for another.)

In Internet Marketing, this is like PPC where you have to invest so the campaign will run. Like Search Engine Marketing, without investing on seminar, coaching or even books, there will be no results.

In summary, relationship and business are very much alike, and it is your duty to make sure it works and give you the result you want. Another tip to success in relationship and business, in order to see change, you must change first.

This is a hard post, titled “The Truth About Internet Marketing“, a lot of people will not like what lies in the truth of doing business in internet marketing world.

Previously, I was working in a seminar company which I have learned a lot from and have grown into a different man. There was one thing I found out  that will  shock you, it  is that  people who  attended  seminars, be it on  how  to create wealth, how to have a better relationship, how to …..  Did not put into action on what they learn from the successful speakers. The ratio is that out of 100, 5 will take action, the others will not put their time fully or even not start on what they have learned. From the 5 who took action, only 1 will be a successful man or woman.

The number for the internet marketing is different. Out of 100, who wants to use internet marketing to start a business, 3 will massively take action, only less than half (sometimes none)will make it to be a successful internet marketer. Why is this so? I have been asking why, and my partner is also surprise, till we found out that most of them are taken back by the technique things to learn in internet marketing.

To think about it, yes I was like that when I first started off. Scared to touch on new technology, not willing to try new things, do not want to go the unknown that is uncertainty (from Anthony Robbins). This is actually normal in human and it has been with us since beginning of human race, and will continue to the far far future.

The other main reason is that they do not have the time. They have other commitments like JOB (Just Over Broke) and family, which they are not able to fully focus into Internet Marketing. I must say that after I left my seminar company, I am investing at least 8 hours a day (except Sunday) on my internet marketing business.

How can you overcome this situation to be a successful internet marketer then? Below are what I think will be the solution:

Solution For Internet Marketing Failure

1. Take action: Take massive action to internet marketing. You have to start somewhere, choose PPC, SEO, Blogging, Lead Generation, etc… You have to get started on something to create a momentum. At first you can start small, and this momentum must be constant, and slowly you will began to move faster as there is momentum.
2. Plan your goal: Have a yearly goal, a monthly goal, a weekly goal and a daily goal. In this case, you will see that you are moving forward to goal. Make sure that the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goal are in line with each other, that will ultimately bring you to where you want to be.
3. Time management: You have to make sure everyday, six days a week doing internet marketing. Plan your time wisely. Know what is the amount of time you can spare for your internet marketing. let’s take 2 hours a day. You have a total of 12 hours a week to work on your part time internet business. Be discipline to follow through with 2 hours a day in internet marketing.

I have been reading books on accountability of yourself towards people who are your loved ones or business partners. I want to be accountable to others. Do you know why successful people have a mentor, it’s because they are accountable towards their mentor. Mentors are like coaches who are not your friend, but there to make sure you succeed. Coaches will make sure that you always go to your fundamental and to keep track of your statues.

For example a basketball coach will also make sure that the players must train in their basics and hours on it. What the coach always focus on are the layups, the free throw line, etc… Do you realize that what the coach is doing is to help the players increasing their results, meaning increase their chances of scoring. I too have a mentor, who is also my pastor help me in my spiritual and success walk with Christ daily.

I do have to warn you that mentors or coaches can be very harsh to you, and in the end not following through the program. Below are some things to look out for in a mentor or coach:

1. The coach or mentor must have been through the path you want to take,
2. The coach or mentor must have attained the goal you set for yourself,
3. The coach or mentor must be willing to coach you,
4. The coach or mentor shares their experience with you,
5. The coach or mentor disciplines you.

If you have a business, do you have a plan for the business? Find yourself a mentor to lead you to your success. Without them you will have a lot of walls to knock on. Coaches and mentors are there to help you. Find them and ask them to be your mentor.

The Story

Rocky now is like over 60 years of age, his wife has passed away leaving their son and wife’s brother. Thinking of his wife daily, a restaurant owner, son not living with him, sharing his past fights with his customers. Rocky felt that he has a beast in him that wants to come out, he feel that he wants to go back to boxing. A lot of people has been giving Rocky negative feedback in going back to boxing. His son especially was not happy with Rocky’s decision. They had an disagreement on Rocky going back, because the son feels that Rocky his dad has been a great man, giving people hope. The son felt that he is a shadow to Rocky, and thus the scent below.

What do I mean by fire, aim, and shoot? What I mean is that start doing something when you have the idea, then refine it and do it again with the refinement. When I began my military life years ago, I have to go through basic military training, involving handling of rifles. Everyone was given a rifle under his own charge. When it was my first time shooting the rifle, my instructor wanted us to shoot at the target first then will adjust our own line of sight. For your info, everyone’s line of sight for the rifle are different, that is why each of us has their own rifle, so that after we have adjust our line of sight. All we need to do after is to train on aiming at the target, our breathing during shooting and the angle involved at different distance. This is what you should do!

You must always have a attitude to do first then refine. Of course when you first started, you must start small.  It’s because when you start small you can afford to make mistake, not a lot of people will take notice and your cost will also be low too. Like what Robert Kiyosaki always said, “If you want to start a part time business, start small first.”

Like what I said in my previous post, that is why I choose internet marketing, as you can afford to make mistake at first, but for a normal offline business, you can’t afford to make any. As the cost of the mistake is high.

Spiritual

• Pray daily for 30 minutes, and read Bible 4 chapters daily
• Share with others about Jesus, at least one a week.
• Study Hebrews, Joshua and James. And memorize a verse a week.
• Disciple someone who has just accept Jesus.

Family

• Spend time with Family, 3 hours per week at least. Example: dinning, play games together, watch movie, etc.
• Go overseas with family on the Chinese New Year

Relationship

• Be friendly to everyone
• Have relationship with a woman, I love.

Business (Internet)

• To have at least one sale everyday on my offline business.
• Set up mini websites and direct at least 500 traffic to it. To make $2000/ month by June 2009
• To go into Ebay  by end of 2009.
• Build a list of 1,500 on a particular niche by June 2009.

Self-Development

• Health – loss 7kg of fats by Mar 2009, eat fruits for breakfast, eat less of meat and more of vegetable
• Fitness – Exercise 5 time weekly to clock 150 minutes weekly (run)
• Seminar – Attend those that will improve myself and business (attend 4 per year)
• Learn a language – Japanese (by June 2009)

Well these are the goals that I want to achieve in 2009, and of course they are quite general. So I will need to expand them into more details and specific also.

To be honest with you, I have been living without courage all my life, especially in love life. I have miss so many chances, because I did not ask or do anything about it. Although I have some achievements, like being a Naval Diver, being able to learn driving within 2 and half months, being a good son to my parents, and of course to accept Jesus into my life.

If this verse was shown to me before I quit my job, I would ponder on it day and night. But it was not that at all. In fact I like my life after quitting my job. Now as a full time internet marketeer,  I am able to to the things that I like and to build my business. So the verse to me now its like a reminder of what I was thinking back three months ago. Do not worry about stepping out of different zone, it fact think of it a an adventure, like taking up sky diving or scuba diving etc.Now the business that I am taking up, its more than an adventure, its a life changing process that will turn me into a better man.

There is a story that I heard is very related to this verse. There were this two men who work on a 90 floor building, who were carrying baggage with them, but the life were not working and they had to attend an online conference in their office. So they had no choice but to walk up the stairs. As they were walking up to 25th floor, they were very tired, and decided to leave their baggage on the 25th floor, as they deem no one will take their stuff away. As they continue to walk to the 50th floor, they began to blame the other for suggesting to climb to office, getting very verbal towards each other. As they walk to the 80th floor, they got so tired that they did not even talk to each other. Then on the 90th floor, they finally reach the office. They were searching their pockets, but did not find the keys, they realized that they left it in the baggage on the 25th floor. Do not live your life with regrets.

Be strong and courageous, in whatever new area you do. Be persistent in turning  it into a success. Do not live your life with regret. There is a movie “The Bucket List” by Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, where the both of them found out they are at the end of their lives, decided to do the things they did not have courage to do. Watch it its very funny too.

I have been to a lot of seminars where speakers share, and read a lot of books on self motivation. Here are five main points:

1. Write out a clear life plan – your ultimate goals – and refer to the plan often.

2. Exercise. Increasing your heart rate ups your energy level to tackle other goals.

3. When undertaking a lengthy and difficult project, especially something you don’t want to do, imagine what you’d like to be doing when finished – dinner, a movie, a good book – and make the task a priority.

4. Keep your “why” in front of your eye. Do you want a new car, more time with your family or to put yourself first for a change? Keep a photo of your goal on your desk or where you will see it often.

5. Figure out how much sleep works for you and hit that goal each night. Most of us need six to eight hours. Adequate sleep fuels inspiration, clarity and helps maintain healthy eating.

The above are guidelines to motivating yourself, you will be surprise that your level of energy increases because you kept yourself to the above. They focuses on your goals, health, family, relationships, career, and many more. Try them out for 90 days.
