Tacking Your Broadcast Email

By Cyrus Yung On March 28, 2009 Under Email Marketing

Emailing nowadays has been rated as spams and most of the time readers will not be reading them if they do not know you or allow you to email them. This is just one of the obstacles that filters your emails to your subscribers, so all the more you must know or track your emails are read by your subscribers and click to where you want them to go.

Tacking your broadcast email nowadays is easy, you are able to track the number of emails that reach your subscribers, open rate of the email, and the no of clicks the subscribers clicks in the email. You will understand whether your email campaign works, here is how to track:

Lets say that I have a 1,000 subscribers in my list and I send a email yesterday at 12pm (Note that your subscribers will most properly come from United States) and only check the open rate after 24 hours or more to find out the no of emails that reach your subscribers, as some emails might go to the junk or spam mails. This will not happen if you are using double opt-in for the subscribers. This is important that if you have over 50% of the emails which did not reach your subscribers’ mailbox. How do we rectify to decrease the rate of your emails being send to spam or junk mails? By white washing your list. I will share with you on white washing in later post.

Now you have the 500 emails reach your subscribers, the second thing is to track open rate. It basically means that the email reach your subscribers and how many open the email. The subject line of the email and the sender who is from you are the two main factors that will result in a good or bad open rate. The subject line is exactly like the headline of the sales copy, the subject line or headline’s purpose is to make your subscriber. Have you ever seem emails from other internet marketers who you do not know, and you open the email because the subject headline makes you want to continue to read the rest of the email. Remember the purpose of the subject headline is make your readers continue to read. The other reason is that if you have been emailing to your list, and given your subscribers a lot of free quality stuffs. They are more eager to receive your email than to reject your emails. The only reason why they are rejecting you is that you are spamming them or giving them lousy content, etc. How many times email to your list I have share before, do read up the past post if you want.

Now the last part, you have a average headline that has 50% of the open rate, 250 read your email in count. How do you make sure they click the link to wherever you want to bring them? By writing to them as a friend, always remember that email marketing is relationship selling, so you cannot be to salesy on your approach in the email, or they will un-subscribe from your list. I guess you have friends that email you, telling you what they experienced or have the good result from buying this product or service, then makes you want to buy as well. I did, and quite a few time as well. The email that you are writing must be truthful and sometimes playful as well, so your friends or subscribers will listen to your advise.

Internet marketing has so much strategies that we can use, all you need to to expand your mind and execute on what you know. That will be all for today’s internet marketing strategy, do comment and share with others on this topic. Internet marketing is a fun and exciting world to be in, and I love it, I hope you do also. To your success, cheers!
